New Mexico Alien Sightings
Sighting One: The Roswell Incident
Arguably the most iconic alien sighting in history occurred in Roswell in 1947. A mysterious object crashed on a ranch outside the town, prompting the U.S. military to issue a press release claiming they had recovered a “flying disc.” The statement was quickly retracted, replaced with an explanation involving a weather balloon. However, eyewitnesses described strange debris and even alleged the recovery of alien bodies. The Roswell Incident sparked decades of conspiracy theories and remains a cornerstone of UFO lore.
Sighting Two: The Dulce Base Rumors
In the late 1970s, rumors began circulating about a secret underground facility beneath Archuleta Mesa near Dulce, a small town in northern New Mexico. Allegedly, this base housed joint experiments between humans and extraterrestrials. Whistleblowers claimed to have seen alien beings and advanced technology hidden deep underground. Though no physical evidence has ever confirmed the base’s existence, the Dulce legend continues to attract researchers and believers from around the world.
Sighting Three: Lights Over Socorro
On April 24, 1964, a police officer witnessed a strange craft while chasing a speeding vehicle near Socorro. He reported seeing an egg-shaped object with landing gear and two small beings in white coveralls. The object emitted a roaring sound and quickly ascended into the sky. Zamora’s credibility and detailed account led to an official investigation by Project Blue Book, which classified the sighting as “unexplained.” The Socorro incident remains one of the most credible UFO encounters on record.
